Seeing as most of our students come from non-Mandarin speaking homes, we want to provide more time to use the language, in a natural, social manner. Because that’s one of the key ways that kids learn!
Mandarin Kids Club was started at the end of 2017 to be a time where we can hang out, play and provide fun activities encouraging your child’s Mandarin learning and chatting in a social space! Schoolyard games, food / cooking sessions, writing demos, pinyin, BYO toys & boardgames, and more! It’s a great opportunity for the children to familiarise and practice their Mandarin in a more enjoyable setting.
From 2018, we will not be running a standalone Mandarin Kids Club. It will instead be incorporated into all of the School Kids Years 1-8 classes.
Here is a sample of what we did in Term 4 last year, for a one-hour session on Saturday. We can’t fit so much into 70 minutes, but the playfulness behind Mandarin Kids Club will still be evident in the classes.
