Hi everyone! We’re wanting to offer FREE Mandarin sessions to the public at the Wellington Central Library. It will be a little bit like Baby Rock N Rhyme and Preschool Storytime – but all in Mandarin and with the Ni Hao Children’s Community style to it : ) We need YOUR help and survey responses, plus your networking to spread the word around to see if others are keen!
The free sessions will be designed for families learning Mandarin as a second/foreign language, but of course open to native speakers as well!
The focus is very much on the oral language, using our translated songs, rhymes and books that children are already familiar with in English. Sessions will also involve finger plays, actions and dances.
Sessions would be casual in nature with no formal planning or learning outcomes, so they will be very different to our Classes, but similar to Playgroup.
We would love to know what you think about this idea! Your responses will be valuable and it will help us communicate the idea to the people we’re going to meet at the library.
